It’s important to know what’s going on around you locally and in the world. It’s hard to keep up with the news and it can be pretty negative, so I don’t blame you if you don’t follow it every day at this point in your life, but it is good to check in and see what’s happening.
Today we’ll look at news from a couple of places.
First, we’ll watch and discuss The Week in Rap on Flocabulary.
Next, you’ll do a bit of brief research of your own using a trusted news source. You’ll find a story that interests you, then write a bit about it.
Take a quick look at these sites. If you have another site in mind, make sure you tell me which site it is FIRST.

Your job is to pick one story that interests you. It could be news, sports, arts & entertainment, etc. You need to quickly summarize it (briefly explain the story IN YOUR OWN WORDS – NO COPYING AND PASTING!) and then tell me why it’s important to you. You also NEED TO INCLUDE A LINK to your story.
